Im Auge der Sonne
A Visual Media Art Project (in nine parts) - © 2001 - 2004 Museum of Modern Crime / Klaus Schrefler

General Information

On this website you may find information regarding the interdisciplinary art project INTIÑAHUI. In Quechua, an indigenous language used in the region of Bolivia, Ecuador and Peru nowadays, this word means In the Eye of the Sun. The content of the work, a performance of the RYTHMS OF LIFE, is arranged in nine parts. The numbers ONE to NINE in form of visual compositions and symbols make the frame. The realisation is owed to an indigenous approach. Independently of language and culture visual impressions are able to transmit their meaning and result in a sensual interpretation by the spectator which leaves room for individual interpretation. [see Info]

Inspiration & Intercultural Aspects

The whole piece is based on an idea by Klaus Schrefler. He developed the project as a transdiciplinary artwork inspired by spiritual approaches of indigenous peoples in the Andes and ecouraged by the co-operation with the sculptor Luis Viracocha of Ecuador. A key element of the development was involving artists of different origins and different genres. The material presented here in rather short terms is result of a process of more than two years and is the basis for further process oriented development. Many people from different cultures have contributed, further people are invited to do so.

Process

The basic function of this website is to promote the context of the project during a process-oriented development! Information and images merely serve as a preview and will be developed continously.

The upper part of the navigation`s frame to the left consists of local links, the lower part relates to independent websites. (last update - 25.02.2004)

Dedicated

to life itself, especially to the life and the knowledge of all the indigenous peoples still unfree.
